The Bay Area Laser Institute is the premier private practice laser and cosmetic dermatology center in Northern California, established by Dr Vic A Narurkar, an internationally recognized board-certified dermatologist who is one of a handful of comprehensively fellowship trained laser and MOHS dermatologic surgeons in the United States. Dr. Narurkar, a Stanford educated dermatologic surgeon, is one of a handful of board certified dermatologists with fellowship training in cutaneous laser surgery. He saw the need to develop a premier laser center in the Bay Area after serving as the Dermatology Director and Assistant Professor of Dermatology at The University Of California Davis Laser Center.

At UC Davis, Dr. Narurkar pioneered the use of diode, pulsed dye, pulsed ndYAG,pulsed carbon dioxide and long pulsed alexandrite lasers for the treatment of scars, birthmarks, tattoos, hair reduction and wrinkle reduction. He continues to serve as Assistant Clinical Professor at UC Davis and continues to develop cutting edge technologies in his private practice, which has been the site where a variety of innovative laser techniques have been developed including acne photoclearing with Clearlight, cosmetic repigmentation with target UVB, extended pulsed diode lasers for effective and safe hair reduction in dark skin and the combined use of intense pulsed light-cosmetic Botox for non invasive wrinkle reduction and photorejuvenation. With support from industry leaders in lasers, academic excellence and a Pacific Heights location, the Center offers Silicon Valley engineering, Stanford trained physicians and San Francisco style.

Dr. Narurkar's practice specializes in laser and intense pulsed light treatments for wrinkles, facial and leg veins, brown spots, age spots, scar reduction, hair removal in all skin types, stretch mark treatments, skin resurfacing, acne and acne scar treatments, tattoo removal and cosmetic repigmentation.
